Pleasant Street over Whittle Brook, Goffstown, NH | 2016

The Pleasant Street Bridge over Whittle Brook is a cast-in-place concrete rigid frame structure constructed in 1932. QCC assisted the Town of Goffstown in the design of bridge deck repairs and membrane replacement during a roadway improvement project. A deteriorated steel girder and concrete deck sidewalk structure existed on the upstream side of the bridge and was in need of replacement.

Quantum Construction Consultants designed a pedestrian bridge that consists of a 45-foot long by 6-foot wide precast concrete deck with precast concrete footings founded on geosynthetic reinforced soil (GRS) foundations. This type of construction allowed for the structure to span from top of streambank to top of streambank. The project included gabion baskets for slope stabilization under the pedestrian bridge.

The pedestrian bridge replacement project was funded by the Town of Goffstown and was completed by the Town in 2016.
