Bridges | Water Street over Great Brook, Antrim, NH | 2010

Water Street over Great Brook was a severely deteriorated corrugated metal pipe culvert (CMP), installed in 1978, with stone masonry headwalls. The CMP was approximately 10 feet wide by 6 feet high and was severely undersized for hydraulic capacity. The bridge had experienced scour damage and roadway overtopping during reoccurring flood events that occurred in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Quantum Construction Consultants, LLC designed an open-bottom replacement structure with increased hydraulic capacity. The new structure is a 20-foot span precast concrete rigid frame founded on cast-in-place foundation walls with precast concrete wingwalls.

This project was funded by the Town of Antrim and the NHDOT MunicipallyManaged Bridge Aid Program. Construction was completed in 2010.
