High Haith over Squam Lake Canal, Center Harbor, NH | 2010

The Town of Center Harbor contracted with QCC to design a replacement structure for High Haith Road over Squam Lake Canal. The existing narrow concrete slab deck, founded on stone masonry abutments, was posted for 6 tons and was on the NHDOT Municipal Redlist due to severe deterioration of the bridge deck and settlement of the stone abutments.

This bridge is the only means of access to the Town Beach and for residents on the island. The replacement structure is a 24-foot span precast concrete butted deck beam bridge founded on cast-in-place concrete abutments. A temporary detour road allowed access to the island during construction. This bridge replacement project was funded by the Town of Center Harbor and the NHDOT Municipally-Managed Bridge Aid Program. Construction was completed in August 2010.
