This project entailed the emergency replacement of the Oak Hill Road Bridge over Cross Brook. On October 8, 2005, heavy rains exceeding the estimated 100-year storm event, fell in the Northfield area. High water and loss of fines through the headwalls caused sinkholes and excessive settlement around the deteriorated corrugated metal pipe.
Quantum Construction Consultants, LLC was contracted by the Town of Northfield to quickly design a replacement bridge structure. QCC worked closely with the NHDOT and the Town to fast track the design process. Final design for a precast concrete rigid frame bridge, with improved hydraulic capacity, was completed in less than 3 months and the project was advertised for bid in January 2006. This project was funded by FEMA and the NHDOT Municipal Bridge Aid Program.
